Low back pain is very common amongst golfers. While it is common, it shouldn’t be
considered “normal.” This pain leads to decreases in performance.
There are usually 2 reasons that this occurs.
Lack of mobility
Lack of stability
Let’s talk about mobility first.
If we are lacking mobility in our hips, it is most likely going to our lower back to compensate. It’s amazing what our body will do to compensate and still allow movement, but over time will eventually lead to pain.
Now, onto stability.
If we don’t have stable hips, pelvis, or core, then once again the lower back will have to take over and compensate for this. In addition, if you have poor upper body posture (do you sit at a desk all day?), the lower back comes in, compensates and results in pain.
It is so important to get rid of that lower back pain so that you can play the game you love, longer.
If you are having back pain with golf, email me at charlene@anchorlifeandfitness.com and reference "BACK PAIN WITH GOLF" to schedule a complimentary call to see if we can help get you back to playing the game pain free.
Our Golf Fitness programs focus on building a solid foundation of strength as well as a program to support mobility; as needed. We build the strength first, then develop the speed and power after that.
We want to help you get back to play the game you love, longer and pain free!
In Strength,
Charlene
