I am a busy mom who has struggled to make time for exercise. I belonged to a fitness club in the past and had no motivation to go. The class sizes were too large and I didn’t feel as though anyone kept me accountable. All of that has changed now that I belong to Anchor Life and Fitness. For the last 3 months, I have attended between 4 to 5 classes a week - most that require me to wake up at 6 am (which is something I never thought I could do!) I have lost over 15lbs, built a ton of muscle and best of all - I am more confident and feel good about myself!

Leigh Anne and Charlene have been such an inspiration to me! They keep me accountable, push me to reach my potential and have taught me so much about the importance of form, breathing and bracing. I have been part of the ANCHOR life + fitness community for three months and have experienced incredible gains in strength and fitness. The instructors have the background experience and education to design safe and effective programs so every client can reach their full potential and accomplish personal goals. They communicate with each other regarding individual client needs, and this is evident in every class, no matter which instructor is teaching.

This is my friend Charlene Richardson, and she just opened a brand new, state of the art facility in downtown Kennett Square called Anchor Life + Fitness.
The facility is the old firehouse on Broad Street.
Charlene actually used to be one of my coaches and helped me get to where I am today.
Her facility offers 1 on 1 personal training, small group training, fitness classes, yoga, nutrition classes (she has a kitchen there!) and much more.

I am blessed to be the mother of five beautiful children, a sixteen year old daughter and quadruplets who are fourteen. That means finding time for myself is challenging. My exercise routine consisted of cycling with my husband and classes at a local gym. While I enjoyed the routine and my friends at this gym, I reached a plateau.
Charlene Richardson has really been an inspiration. She and the other trainers have challenged me to push past what I believed I could accomplish. With their guidence and support, I look forward to being the first person to place a kettlebell at the summit of Everest. Go big, think big, or go home!!!
With my hectic summer schedule in the summer is very hectic, unstructured and a bit chaotic. This usually means that my fitness/strength falls to the wayside. This past summer I decided to utilize Anchor's remote training program. The program format was great and really fit my lifestyle. I had strength practice 3 days/week and Conditioning 2 days/week. Then I had my weekends off, which after ANCHOR's workouts…I needed it! I could do my workouts most days for under 1 hour and I loved that one of my days was really quick. The conditioning was killer! Charlene gave me tips for some fun apps so that I could do intervals using my phone. That kept it fun!
Charlene was great about keeping me motivated. She would text and email me asking how I was doing and also asking me to send videos so that she could review my form. At first, I thought this would be a bit much, but I found that keeping that dialogue was key to keeping me motivated. I really felt like I had her on the other end when I needed her. She knew just when to change things up so I didn’t get bored. Each week I varied my weights and then she completely changed it up in about 4 weeks, which was perfect.
I felt the program was very well tailored to my needs, my limits and my strengths. By the end of the 10 weeks, I had improved my conditioning, gained strength and did this on my own time.
Charlene and her staff at ANCHOR are so enthusiastic and motivated about fitness as a compliment to lifestyle and I was very happy to stay connected with this group over the summer. I would highly recommend this program!!
Best of all, I was able to keep fit all summer in a very stress free way.
I began training at ANCHOR Life+fitness this past November to prepare for my upcoming lacrosse season, kicking off in March. The staff at ANCHOR could not have been more welcoming! Although I had never lifted before, my amazing trainers created workouts specially tailored to my abilities. Not only have I noticed a significant improvement in my strength, but my speed and agility have improved greatly. I feel more prepared for my season than ever before, and I will definitely continue training at ANCHOR throughout my season and as I prepare for collegiate level lacrosse at American University this summer. Working out at ANCHOR has been such an amazing experience for me and I genuinely look forward to heading into the gym everyday!
